Hitman Movie Filming Begins, Confirms Eidos

Eidos Interactive has confirmed that production on the Hitman movie has begun on March 27 and will continue in and around the Bulgarian capital of Sofia for twelve weeks before moving on to locations in South Africa, St. Petersburg and London.

The movie will be based on the game, which sees an international assassin known only as Agent 47 (Olyphant) who works for a mysterious organization dubbed the Agency. Timothy Olyphant has been cast as the world’s deadliest assassin while Dougray Scott will play the antagonist Olga Kurylenko. Robert Knepper, Ulrich Thomsen and Michael Offei are the other actors who will feature in the Hitman Movie. It is being directed by Xavier Gens from a screenplay by Skip Woods.

The Hitman titles are one of the most successful action games ever and have sold in excess of 6 million units worldwide. The most recent game in the series is Hitman: Blood Money, which reached No.1 in all key territories and sold more that 1.4 million copies. Eidos however not mentioned the release date of the Hitman movie.
